-The colour of a mineral is a great clue to it`s identity.
-Colour can not tell what the exact mineral is.
-Two or more minerals may have the exact same colors so you might think that they are the same.
-Corundum (this is made up of aluminum and oxygen) it is white when it is pure.
-When corundom has iron and/or titanium, it is blue then it gets the name sapphire.
-When corundom has chromium, it is red and called ruby.
